Intensive Outpatient Program-Angel Intervention Services

WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?

Intensive Outpatient Program (also known as IOP ) is a primary treatment program recommended in some circumstances by a clinical and medical assessment. IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) may be recommended for those who do not need medically-supervised detox. IOP can also enable people in recovery to continue their recovery therapies following successful detox, on a part-time yet intensive schedule, designed to accommodate work and family life.

Start rebuilding your personal life and mending your important family ties right away, when you live at home and participate in intensive outpatient treatment. With Intensive Outpatient Program you are able to establish a foundation for long term recovery support in your local community right from the start of your treatment, instead of waiting until you return from living away in a rehab center.

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides people with the freedom to live at home and still attend work or school while receiving addiction services & live Addiction free.

While some people use an IOP as a primary type of care, others may transition to an IOP after completing an inpatient program to continue to build on coping skills and decrease the risk of relapse. Still others may require monitored detoxification and will transition to an IOP after going through detox.

What To Expect After Completing Intensive Outpatient Program

What To Expect After Completing Intensive Outpatient Program

After completing an Intensive Outpatient Program, a recovering addict needs to begin planning for the months ahead. An exit and aftercare plan is usually created at this time. You may continue attending the outpatient clinic, just not as often. An aftercare plan may also include what types of counseling are needed, as well as defining where you will live and work. Having a safe place to live and stable employment is important for anyone trying to overcome an addiction. Because of this, rehab staff may find it necessary to refer you to social services, such as vocational training and transitional living facilities.

Who Does This Treatment Fit Best?

This type of rehab is often recommended for people in the early stages of treatment or those transitioning from residential or hospital settings to home life. Intensive outpatient t is suitable for patients who do not need full-time supervision and have some available supports. Still, these programs provide more structure than traditional outpatient settings. Angel Intervention Services offers a wide variety of Intensive Outpatient Programs. Difference Between Inpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs

The biggest difference is that inpatient or residential rehab programs require that you live at the facility, while outpatient rehab programs allow you to return home when treatment sessions are finished. Inpatient programs can last 30, 60, or 90 days, and sometimes longer if necessary. These programs can be a significant commitment if you have other responsibilities. Conversely, people attending an IOP therapy program can schedule treatment when it works best for them. However, IOPs typically meet at least 3 days a week, for 2-4 hours each day.

IOPs offer similar services to inpatient programs, such as individual, group, and family therapy, and are often just as effective. 1 Consequently, an IOP is a beneficial alternative to residential treatment when the person can’t afford to neglect home, school, or work obligations.
