Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid used as a patch, has been showing up in bags of heroin or cocaine without a buyer’s knowledge often. The high is euphoric and the product is cheap and strong, making it popular among those who try it. It’s also a lot more deadly. Spikes in deaths from the drug have increased across the country
Fentanyl is especially dangerous because it is roughly 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine and acts quickly due to rapid uptake in the brain.
